DENTAL IMPLANT
Many people lose teeth, mostly due to tooth decay, disease, or injury. However, today there is a brand new, more reliable, more aesthetic, and more permanent method. A dental implant is a surgical component that intervenes in the jawbone or skull to support a dental prosthesis, such as a crown, bridge, denture, or facial prosthesis, or to act as an anchor for orthodontics.
After the implant is placed, depending on the quality of the person's jawbone and the method of application of the implant, the implant prosthesis is made after 2-3 months of a waiting period. The purpose of this waiting period is the formation of the implant-bone connection (osteointegration).
How long does the treatment take?
If there is no serious infection in the spaces created by the lost teeth, an implant can be placed in the tooth cavity immediately. If the amount and density of bone is below the desired level, bone formation may be required before implant application.
Implant application under local anesthesia is simple and painless. The recovery period varies according to the age and health status of the patient. It is expected that a period of 5 weeks to 3 months will pass for permanent prostheses to be made on the implant. In case of bone deficiency, the waiting time for the permanent prosthesis may be longer as the bone formation time will be added.
It is very important to pay attention to oral hygiene after implant treatment. Apart from routine tooth brushing, cleaning of the implanted area should be ensured by using special threads, interface brushes, and mouthwashes recommended by our physicians. At all these stages, Saphire Dent doctors will be with you and guide this process.
WHAT ARE THE ADVANTAGES OF DENTAL IMPLANTS?
Perfect Appearance
Dental implants look like your own teeth and create a natural tooth feel for you. Moreover, they are permanent because they are designed to fuse with the bone.
Perfect Root of Tooth
When you lose a tooth, a gap remains where the root is, and these roots are rebuilt with the implant application.
Confidence
Dental implants can restore your smile and help you feel better about yourself.
Oral Health
Implants allow you to have new teeth without damaging the adjacent tooth, with the abutment/abutment that acts as a natural tooth skeleton placed on them. Individual implants also increase oral hygiene, allowing easy access between teeth.
